 Senior Associate Attorney

Duties: Plantation Law Firm that specializes in commercial and retail collections throughout the state of Florida is currently accepting applications for a Senior Associate Attorney. The successful candidate must be a Non Smoker with superior organizational, time management and people skills. We offer medical and vacation benefits after 90 days. Salary $60-75k based on experience. Job Summary: Attorney will be responsible for handling complex, contested civil litigation, among other duties, preparation of pleadings, court appearances, post judgment collection actions including garnishments and other legal remedies. The attorney will be filing suit and performing all pre and post judgment collection actions necessary to recover debts. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a self motivated attorney to participate in all facets of the litigation process.

Requirements: NON SMOKER 2+ years Experience Collection Experience Preferred Trial Experience Juris Doctorate Active member of the FL Bar Abilities Required: Ability to articulate the firm's position professionally and maintain a level of professionalism at all times. Good interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication Must be able to prioritize responsibilities as well take direction from senior counsel

Preferences: Civil litigation experience. Proficiency with Windows-based software and Westlaw research database. Fluency in Spanish.


Associate Attorney

Duties: Oversee a large caseload for a busy debt-collection law practice. Identify and implement efficient methods of collecting debts due, including bank and wage garnishment, property levies, and discovery in aid of execution. Attend a wide range of court proceedings in all counties and jurisdictions within the state. Handle hearings, pre-trial conferences, mediations, depositions, appeals, and trials. Engage in effective negotiations to ensure maximum recovery for our clients.

Requirements: Friendly disposition and willingness to be a part of a cooperative and collegial litigation team. Admission to and member in good standing with the Florida Bar. Transportation. Non-smoker.

Preferences: Civil litigation experience. Proficiency with Windows-based software and Westlaw research database. Fluency in Spanish.


Collector

Duties: Contact debtors to obtain payment, stipulations of settlement, and to establish repayment plans. Maximize collection for the firm's clients while adhering to the FDCPA and other applicable statutes and maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor.

Requirements: High-school diploma or equivalent. At least 5 years of related experience. Familiarity with and training in FDCPA compliance.

Preferences: Legal collections experience. Proficiency with Windows-based sfotware. Fluency in Spanish.


Director of Collections

Duties: Direct and administer all aspects of the firm's collections to ensure maximum recover for our clients. Responsible for the initial and ongoing training of all subordinate personnel. Establish policies and procedures to ensure adherence to the FDCPA and other applicable statutes and to response to debtor complaints. Implement processes to improve collections within client requirements both pre- and post-suit. Communicate with clients to arrange settlement opportunities. Establish and develop plans to achieve goals for the collections department.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or at least 8 years of experience in Collections management. Familiarity with all collection concepts, practices, and procedures. Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate members of the collection team.

Preferences: Legal collections experience. Proficiency with Windows-based software. Fluency in Spanish.

 


File Clerk

Duties: File maintenance for a high-volume debt-collection law practice, including but not limited to: maintaining file organization; retrieving requested files and filing away when work completed; routing outgoing and incoming mail; answering the phone and routing calls.

Requirements: Candidates should be reliable, industrious, friendly, team players with good organizational skills and attention to detail. Non-smoker.

Preferences: Proficiency with Windows-based software. 


Legal Secretary

Duties: Perform secretarial duties for a busy debt-collection law practice, including but not limited to: file complaints, motions, notices of appeal, and other pleadings; track issuance and service of summonses, writs of garnishments, and other court papers; schedule/calendar hearings, mediations, trials, etc.; track entry of court orders; docket and record final judgments; data entry.

Requirements: Candidates should be reliable, industrious, friendly, team players with good organizational skills and attention to detail. Non-smoker.

Preferences: Civil litigation experience. Proficiency with Windows-based software.

 


Office Administrator

Duties: Develop, maintain, and enforce office policies and procedures. Facilities management of 6,000+ square foot leased office space. Acquire and manage office equipment to ensure smooth operation of the office. Hire, train, discipline, and manage a 30+ person staff. Serve as liaison between the firm and its accountant and other professional vendors. Prepare and update the office budget.

Requirements: Prior experience or training in law office management. Excellent written and oral communication skills including proper phone etiquette. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Quickbooks. Willingness to learn and comply with applicable court rules. Non-smoker.
